Electric Scooter Ride and Electric Vespa

It was a cold ride around Seattle today (we actually got snow last night!). However, it was great to get out and ride around with friends. The highlight, of course, was getting to ride along with the electric Vespa: a 1960 150 converted to electric with our new electric vespa conversion kit. Video here:

Soundspeed is inviting all of our friends for an Electric Scooter ride on December 14th, 2008. We will be meeting at the shop at Noon and will leave for a ride to Ballard's Chai House Cafe at 1pm. All are welcome, even Electric Bicycles! What's better than riding an Electric Scooter? Riding with a pack of them! See you there!!!

After a long wait. . . The NEW EVT Lithium Scooters are here! These things are crazy! Lighter, faster, and more miles per charge! The EVT Lithium 168 and 4000e sport a NEW 48V 30Ah Lithium Polymer battery pack. Lithium battery technology is used for high performance applications.

"As a blogger of all things green tech, I'm consistently bombarded with new technology that *may* be available next year. With gas prices climbing, mounting evidence of global warming, and wallets being pinched, my patience for "tomorrows technology" starts to wear thin. Thats why I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon Soundspeed Scooters right here in Fremont, Seattle, selling electric scooters. I've seen many hobbyist electric cars that cost upwards of $10,000 or more - usually out of reach for the average early adopter.

Electric Tomos Moped Completed

We just finished up work on a custom electric moped project for one of our customers. The bike began as a stock Tomos Streetmate. After a few hours of fabrication and design, we were ready to bolt up the Etek motor. This bike is going to be FAST! Check out photos
